Production Engineer

Production Engineer We are seeking a Production Engineer who will be responsible for supporting day‑to‑day manufacturing operations and leading the delivery of capital projects aimed at improving plant performance, capacity, and reliability. This role focuses on optimising mechanical systems, implementing engineering solutions, and managing the full lifecycle of capital investments—from concept through commissioning. The Production Engineer works closely with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure the successful integration of new equipment, technologies, and processes. This is a full‑time position with a competitive remuneration package including base salary + superannuation. Main Responsibilities Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting and optimising production equipment and processes. Lead or support the planning, execution, and commissioning of capital projects, including equipment installation, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements. Prepare detailed mechanical drawings and technical documentation to support engineering designs and manufacturing processes. Develop technical specifications, project scopes, budgets, and timelines for capital projects. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (maintenance, production, procurement, HSE) and external contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols. Analyse production performance data to identify opportunities for mechanical improvements, cost / waste reduction and efficiency gains. Participate in the identification, design and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. Prepare and maintain project documentation including risk assessments, progress reports, and technical drawings library. Ensure smooth handover of capital projects to operations and provide technical support during the transition. Develop and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and production documentation. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions (CAPA) for production problems. Contribute to long‑term manufacturing and asset improvement planning. About You To be successful in this role you will need : Strong communication skills. Demonstrated prior experience in manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools. Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar and other engineering tools. Problem‑solving abilities and data analysis skills. Prior exposure to cross‑functional teams and projects. Background in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial. Why Wagners?
