Operational Airworthiness Support Officer Role Title: Operational Airworthiness Support Officer Company Overview: Amentum is a leader in global engineering, project management and solutions integration, trusted to modernise the most critical missions worldwide. Role Description: The Directorate of Operational Airworthiness (DOPAW) seeks Program Support services to support the Operational Airworthiness (OPAW) aspects of the Army’s Apache Attack Helicopter. The role will provide specialist Operational Airworthiness services throughout acquisition and capability realization through planned assessment and system delivery. Responsibilities Provide subject‑matter expert advice on OPAW within the Defence Aviation Safety Framework. Develop risk‑management plans using Army tools in line with Defence Aviation Safety Framework and Army MAO policy. Develop/assist the establishment and maintenance of an AH‑64E MAO OPAW Operational Authorisations Plan. Consult regulary with technical, operational standards and capability management representatives to support risk‑management plan development and control implementation. Assist in developing policy related to Army’s Flying Management System, operational flying safety, and risk management. Participate and provide SME advice at meetings such as System Safety Working Groups, Configuration Control Boards, Integrated Project Team Meetings, Project Governance Boards, Army Aviation Safety Program Conferences, Airworthiness Boards, and other relevant groups. Requirements Experience updating Defence orders, instructions and procedures to support introduction of a Defence capability. Experience developing risk‑management plans to support Commanders’ acceptance of aviation risk. Experience supporting or improving an aviation safety management system. Knowledge of Defence Aviation Safety Regulations and application in Operational/Technical Airworthiness contexts. Demonstrated behaviours to manage and control sensitive information and cultivate productive working relationships. Desirable: experience within Australian Army Aviation, OPAW expertise, and introduction of a new aviation system. Additional Information Required Security Clearance: Minimum NV1.
