Cherries Tasmania Orchards is a highly productive, family-run orchard in Old Beach, committed to achieving world’s best industry practice. We grow 40 hectares of premium cherries. We are focused on expanding and protecting our crop through extensive infrastructure projects. About the Opportunity We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Orchard Worker to join our team, primarily dedicated to our large-scale Orchard Netting Installation Project. This is a fast-paced, hands‑on role where you will be instrumental in building the critical infrastructure that protects our crop. Key duties will involve working at heights and manual labour associated with: Installing, running, and fixing protective netting over orchard rows. Preparing ground and infrastructure for machinery access. Basic comfort with heights is required for this role. Responsibilities Manual lifting, carrying, and positioning of netting components (posts, wire, cable). Working in a team to efficiently lay out, tension, and secure protective netting. Perform daily manual labour tasks required for the netting project. Adhere strictly to all Work Health and Safety policies and procedures. Assist with general orchard maintenance and development tasks as directed. About You Physically fit and comfortable with heavy manual labour and working at moderate heights (e.g., on elevated platforms). Safety-focused and able to follow detailed construction and safety instructions. Reliable, punctual, and a productive team member. Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions. Reside in Tasmania as there is no accommodation available with this position. Essential Criteria, Skills, and Experience Current and unrestricted Australian driver's license. Ability to perform consistent, physically demanding work. Willingness to work at heights (training provided). Previous experience in construction, farming, or a similar outdoor labour role is highly advantageous. Fluent in English as you will primarily be working in a team environment.
