About the Role As a Residential Care Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with daily living needs, personal care, and participation in community life. You will also work closely with families, healthcare professionals, and allied health teams to ensure residents receive the highest standard of care. Key Responsibilities Provide respectful assistance with daily personal care (toileting, washing, dressing, grooming). Support residents in building independence and daily living skills, including cooking, shopping, and budgeting. Implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) in line with NDIS standards and organisational policies. Liaise with families, healthcare providers, and allied health professionals to ensure holistic care and support. Assist residents with community access and coordinate leisure, recreational, and social activities. Contribute to a safe and welcoming group home environment through risk assessments and supportive practices. Advocate for residents’ needs in areas such as health, wellbeing, and community participation. Qualifications & Requirements Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or Disability Work (or Diploma in Community Services) OR minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Current Working With Children Check (WWCC), National Police Check, and First Aid Certificate. NDIS Orientation Module completion. NDIS Worker Screening Check. Full Australian Driver’s Licence. Skills & Attributes Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required. Excellent time management and organisational skills. Problem‑solving and conflict management abilities. Competence in Microsoft Office and digital record‑keeping systems.
