Our team is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Trainee Payroll Administrator to join our Sydney team based in Gregory Hills. About the Role This is a full‑time, hands‑on opportunity that’s ideal for someone who has a background in administration and is looking to start a career in payroll. The Payroll Administrator for the Altus Group plays a crucial role in maintaining and ensuring compliance with our payroll systems, assisting payroll in weekly close‑offs and other parts of the business when required. The role encompasses operational aspects, including assisting with recruiting field‑based traffic control staff (fieldworkers). The administrator will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to provide effective and efficient administration support while maintaining high standards of communication, professionalism and customer service. Additional ad‑hoc duties may be undertaken under the direction of the Staff Engagement Business Partner and the General Manager. You’ll be the friendly and organised go‑to person who ensures new team members are ready to hit the ground running. Key Responsibilities Assisting with the weekly payroll process from timesheets to payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Organising and ensuring deadlines are met within a timely manner. Collaborating with internal teams and external clients to resolve pay queries. Supporting audits, reporting and system improvements. Assisting other parts of the business where required. Successfully completing a company‑provided training in Certificate IV in Business Administration. About You Strong admin experience in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent time management, attention to detail and multitasking skills. Proficiency in data entry. Confident communicator with a people‑first mindset.
