The Client : Mr. Bulgogi Korean Restaurant located in Mawson Lakes, South Australia, is a well-known restaurant specialising in authentic Korean cuisine. It is established and popular in the area with a reputation for high‑quality food. They are now looking for a cook with experience in Korean cuisine to join their business. The Role You will have the opportunity to work at an established business that will develop you professionally and allow you to hone your skills and techniques. You will also have opportunities to progress in the business and play an important role in its continued success. This is a full‑time role with an annual salary of $76,700 plus superannuation. Responsibilities Examine food to ensure quality and presentation Cook a variety of dishes from the menu and on pans under the guidance of the head chef Use different methods of cooking such as grilling, frying, steaming, boiling and roasting Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods Portion food, plate it, and add gravies, sauces and garnishes Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment and maintain them in good working condition Report to management if any maintenance is required Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment Order raw materials from suppliers as per business need Review the menu with the head chef and contribute to seasonal changes Follow and maintain all OH&SC requirements for safe kitchen operations Clean and maintain work area and kitchen equipment Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies Assist with ordering supplies Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Assist in menu development in consultation with the chef and manager Supervise and train new staff as required Requirements Relevant qualifications in hospitality/cookery required At least 2 years of commercial cooking experience At least 2 years of experience cooking on a grill At least 2 years of experience preparing meals for dietary restrictions such as gluten‑free, vegan or nut‑free At least 2 years of experience preparing fermented Korean foods and maintaining proper fermentation environments At least 2 years of experience operating Korean kitchen equipment such as dolsot pots, deep fryer, soup burners and hotplates At least 2 years of experience with stock preparation and slow‑simmering Korean broths Knowledge and experience in modern and authentic Korean cuisine Must be experienced with chicken, beef, pork and seafood proteins Experience in recipe & portion control, ordering and stock control Ability to follow instruction and take direction Excellent time management and attention to detail Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team Availability to work on weekends and public holidays Availability for split shifts and weekend/public holiday work typical of hospitality Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full-time Job function Management and Manufacturing Human Resources Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
