The Association proudly has 3,500 members across 350 competition teams, 35 representative teams, two NBL1 programs, and a booming grassroots base. POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting directly to the Competitions & Programs Manager, the Competitions Administrator will be the key operational pillar to manage and execute the sustainable growth and delivery of the Cockburn Basketball Association’s Domestic Competition. This role has a key focus on communication, stakeholder engagement and policy/procedure implementation. KEY RELATIONSHIPS Competition & Programs Manager Affiliated Clubs and Teams Junior and Senior Players Parents and Guardians Referee and Program Coordinators Local Schools and Councils Referees and Referees Coach Other CBA Staff KEY RESPONSIBILITIES CBA Values: Demonstrated in day‑to‑day work in accordance with CBA behavioural traits. Serve as the key point of contact for the Association via phone, email and/or other forms of communication, with response times in line with the Cockburn Basketball Association’s efficiency measures. Responsible for the delivery and day‑to‑day management of all senior and junior domestic competitions game day/nights (and WABL competition days as required) hosted by the Cockburn Basketball Association. This includes court management responsibilities (and staff) and the associated communication and relationship building tasks this requires. Implement the Cockburn Basketball Association’s operational plan (competitions) that aligns directly with the overall strategic plan and vision. Collaborate with the Competition & Programs Manager to ensure the implementation of all key policies and procedures relevant to the efficient operation of the Cockburn Basketball Association’s competitions and programs. Work with the Competition & Programs Manager to ensure Financial Year Budget targets and processes are met in the competitions business area. Assist with the management of all external Cockburn basketball venues, including quality management, to ensure an outstanding end experience for the user. Proactively plan, project and manage, with the Competition & Programs Manager, future competition size and growth (including its associated impacts). Responsible for the set‑up of new competition seasons, scheduling of all competition matches and associated training session bookings, and set‑up of new programs using the appropriate software (e.g. Sports TG). This includes maintenance of the Cockburn Basketball Association’s website. Responsible for the 12‑month competitions calendar and procedures manual associated with all Cockburn Basketball Association competitions. Alongside the Competition & Programs Manager, responsible for the delivery of Cockburn Basketball Association’s community engagement strategy to further the growth of junior and senior competitions and programmes. Coordinate and implement tribunal hearings where required. Provide administrative support to the CEO, including (but not limited to) written reports and survey outcomes at the conclusion of each competition season. Assist in the management and delivery of NBL1 and WABL game days/nights when required by the Employer. Assist in the management and delivery of the Cockburn Basketball Association’s social media platforms. In addition to the responsibilities indicated, the Employer is entitled to request the Employee to perform such other duties as are within the Employee’s training and competence and are reasonably requested to meet the strategic requirements of the Association. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated experience building strong, positive relationships with key personnel and upper management of a community or similar organisation (Essential). Relevant Basketball Competition Experience (Desirable). Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders in a community organisation (Desirable). Relevant Referee Co‑ordination Experience (Desirable). Community Coach Qualification – formerly NCAS Level 0 (Desirable). Current Working with Children Check (Essential). Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s License (Essential). High‑level organisational, interpersonal and overall communication skills. Demonstrated experience in managing/resolving conflicts and disputes in an efficient manner. In‑depth understanding of Play HQ (or relevant) software, including back‑end competition management, would be advantageous but not critical. ESSENTIAL PERSONAL QUALITIES Excellent interpersonal skills – including the ability to communicate using all methods of communication (phone, email and face‑to‑face), as well as act as liaison, negotiate and resolve conflict as required. Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet timelines. Ability to work autonomously and show initiative. A strong work ethic with attention to detail.
