Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description Cook - Aged Care.Catering Industries Pty Ltd is a leading provider of contracted hospitality services (catering, cleaning and laundry) to Australia's health and aged care, education, government, corporate and resources sector. We currently employ over 2,000 personnel across various operations in our active market. Onsite parking available. About the role: Reporting to the Chef Manager, the position is for a qualified Cook to work in our client’s aged care facility located in Bateau Bay, NSW. Full‑time hours with varied start and finish times. Weekend and Public Holiday loadings apply. The successful applicant must have received at least 2 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and provide a current Federal Police Check certificate, or be willing to apply for one*. Skills & Experience 3+ years’ experience in a similar role – aged care experience highly regarded. Cert III in commercial cookery desirable. Experience in large volume cooking as well as working autonomously and in group settings. Reliable and punctual. Collaborative and team player. Ability to multi‑task and perform work within deadlines. Experienced in ordering, delivery and handling/control of stock. Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients. High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and food safety knowledge. Must have reliable transport. Key Responsibilities Produce high quality meals in line with aged care food service/HACCP guidelines, QA procedures for low and high care residents. Assist in menu design, changes and implementation. Assist with putting away deliveries and general kitchen clean‑up duties. All‑rounder in kitchen tasks such as scones, cakes, desserts, soups. Prepare special diets such as puree, gluten‑free and texture‑modified etc. Excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi‑task. Function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
