Event Planner/Occupational Therapist Wanted To Enrich Monthly Refugee Picnics Our purpose with this role is to increase attendance at picnics or other social events. We are interested in two approaches: Provide activities that draw people in who might otherwise be reserved. It might be helpful to start with the children so their mothers feel inspired to join in and support their children. Creating an atmosphere that brings joy before a word is spoken, by using nature, shape, colour, music and movement. Using elements common to all/most cultures are food, stories, singing, dancing, music, gardening, fashion and craft cooking or even building tools and materials. This role has the potential to assist us to build a deeper relationship with the Atherton Gardens mothers so that we can start projects with them, including some projects listed below that had received an enthusiastic response from the mothers before Covid. However, as most of those mothers have now moved out of the estate, other projects might become more relevant.
