If so, we want YOU to be part of our world-class marhaba Lounge team as a Cook / Chef, proudly operated by dnata Airport Services at Melbourne Airport Primary Duties and Responsibilities Preparing and cooking meals for the lounge Setting up workstations with ingredients and equipment Chopping, peeling and cutting vegetables, meat and other ingredients Cooking food using various utensils, grillers and ovens Stirring or turning food during cooking to ensure even cooking Presenting dishes beautifully before serving Maintaining a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment Storing food and other items properly to meet safety and quality standards Checking quality of ingredients before use Monitoring stock and placing orders when shortages occur Essential Criteria Entry level with 1+ year experience as a cook / chef Experience using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.) Appropriate qualification / certificates an advantage Shift starts 03 : 00 and finishes 00 : 30 over 7 days per week Flexible, willing attitude and strong written communication and customer service skills Immaculate grooming and pride in presentation Working understanding of food safety standards, Current RSA Certificate is a must Security check required to obtain an ASIC Pass as a condition of successful employment Must be an Australian Resident / Citizen Benefits Award rate salary Opportunities for career development and advancement Comprehensive training and induction program Access to staff discounts Please note – To be considered for this position applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
