Director of Operations

.maude is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee product development, supply chain, and fulfillment operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of product development, compliance, supply chain management, and both B2B and D2C fulfillment operations. Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you'll play a critical role in driving cross-channel success by overseeing product development, supply chain logistics, operations, logistics, and B2B fulfillment. This position offers a dynamic opportunity for someone who wants to shape the trajectory of a fast-growing brand.
ResponsibilitiesTeam Management: Manage a direct team of three across fulfillment, operations & planning, and regulatory and product development.Product Development: Lead, create, and execute the entire product development and packaging process working closely with internal engineers, third-party manufacturing partners, co-packers, and compliance agencies ensuring the success and support of the company's quarterly and annual goals with new products and concepts that are aligned with the vision and mission of the company.Operation & Supply Chain: Oversee global supply chain inclusive of all logistics, imports/exports, and purchasing working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and 3PL warehousing team. Manage the internal Operations team including day-to-day fulfillment and production operations, open production order management, wholesale fulfillment, and EDI management. Oversee all B2B and D2C fulfillmentFinance & Purchasing: Oversee all production purchasing and forecasting working closely with the Operations & Planning manager for assurance of accurate and smart purchasing to maintain healthy inventory levels. Manage internal COGS and target margins, both DTC and wholesale, including cost negotiations, monthly and annual inventory evaluations, and 3PL warehousing fees.
RequirementsBeauty industry experience is required.8-10 years of experience in consumer goods with a successful track record in product development and supply chain management.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Excellent communication and cross-functional team collaboration skills; ability to work closely with the internal team, as well as with manufacturing and raw material supply partners.Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and B2B fulfillment is essential.Familiarity with 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) management is highly preferred.Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to product information and the ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.Strong computer and analytic skills.Competitive salary and equity.Generous vacation.Will work from our pet-friendly Williamsburg office.Working Hours: 9:30 am - 6:00 pm Mon-Thurs in-office, 9:30-5:00 pm Fri remoteCultural outings (think: Smithsonian, Nitehawk Cinema, sailing).About Usmaude is a modern, direct-to-consumer sexual wellness startup that launched in April 2018 and has been featured in The NY Times, Vogue, Forbes, and Fast Company, amongst others.
