As a Solution Lead, you will guide Salesforce development teams through design, development, and release cycles, working closely with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with DFATs requirements and approved design patterns. You will champion configuration over code, ensure delivery against Federal Government technology requirements, and manage Salesforce releases through DFATs Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline. Technical Qualifications Certification as a Salesforce Platform Developer I Certification as a Salesforce Administrator Certification as a Salesforce Platform Developer II (desirable) Certification as a Salesforce Omnistudio Developer (desirable) Key Duties and Responsibilities Interpret and assess business needs to design tailored Salesforce solutions that align with client objectives Develop and present solution prototypes and technical designs demonstrating feasibility, maintainability and value Lead technical Salesforce delivery teams to ensure successful implementation and delivery Review implementations, champion best practice and out-of-the-box configurations, and recommend improvements Ensure delivery meets Federal Government authorised technology requirements, including cyber and records management compliance Manage multiple concurrent system development projects from design through to release Define project-level delivery activities and milestones within an agile environment Manage Salesforce releases through the CI/CD pipeline using Azure DevOps tooling Collaborate with other Solution Leads on common components, release scheduling, and code quality Manage Salesforce development environments including test data seeding and refreshes SFIA Skill Requirements Software design (SWDN) Level 5 Solution architecture (ARCH) Level 4 Programming/software development (PROG) Level 5 Data modelling and design (DTAN) Level 4 Deployment (DEPL) Level 3/4 About the Team The Commercial Application Section (CFS) delivers critical ICT solutions for DFAT, supporting areas such as crisis response, consular services, event management, HR ticketing, and trade. The team engages with stakeholders from Canberra, state offices, partner agencies, and Australian embassies and consulates worldwide. Selection Criteria Max 5000 characters total in one-page pitch (individual responses not required) Essential Criteria Minimum 5+ years experience in a leading role in delivering enterprise level Salesforce projects. Have specialist ICT skills in the following: Deep technical expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura, and front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML/CSS) Strong proficiency in declarative configurations such as Flows, Permission Sets, and Security Models. Demonstrated experience with Salesforce Service Cloud, ideally within the Public Sector Cloud, including case management and omni-channel routing. Strong capability in Salesforce solution design, including preparing technical documentation, solution diagrams, and alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance frameworks. Demonstrated experience in tracking and troubleshooting errors in development, configuration and deployment. Demonstrated experience in managing releases through Azure Dev Ops CI/CD Pipeline. Excellent communication skills and experience making persuasive, evidence-based, recommendations that allow decision-makers to make informed decisions. Minimum NV1 security clearance. Desirable Criteria Portal and console interface design using Salesforce Lightning and Omnistudio.
