Job Opportunity, Data Test Automation Engineer, Contract We are looking for a motivated Data Test Automation Engineer to support our Data Engineering team and help strengthen the quality and reliability of our cloud data platform. Contract details $430 per day including super Location: New Zealand or anywhere in Australia Remote working is supported About the role You will work across automated data testing, SQL based validation, and CI and CD quality checks for our data pipelines. This includes maintaining Python based test scripts, writing targeted SQL queries to validate data between source systems and BigQuery, and supporting UAT and production verification for releases. Key responsibilities Maintain and execute automated data tests in Python Write complex SQL queries for reconciliation and validation Support automated testing in CI and CD pipelines Translate business rules into structured test cases Assist with UAT and PVT for data platform releases Keep data quality documentation clear and current What we are looking for One to three years of experience in data or QA testing Strong SQL skills across large datasets Understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling Foundational Python scripting Exposure to BigQuery, pytest, or CI and CD tools is an advantage This is a great opportunity for someone early in their data engineering or QA career who wants to grow technical depth while contributing to a modern data environment.
