Senior Test Automation Engineer - Contract | Sydney Location: Sydney (Hybrid working)Contract Type: Daily-rate contractStart: ASAP / January 2026Industry: Enterprise technology / financial services environment About the role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to join a large enterprise program focused on building and improving automated testing frameworks across critical platforms. You’ll work in a high-performing engineering team responsible for designing and developing automation solutions that support system integrity, performance and reliability across complex environments. Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain test automation frameworks Develop automated test suites for UI, API and integration testing Work closely with engineers and product teams to embed quality into delivery Contribute to test strategy, standards and best practice Execute automated regression and integration testing Analyse defects and collaborate on root‑cause analysis Maintain test environments and test data Support release cycles and QA sign‑off Skills & Experience Required Strong hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, DevTest or similar) Solid programming experience in Java, Python or TypeScript Experience with API testing and integration validation Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, TeamCity or similar) Exposure to message‑based systems (Kafka, MQ) an advantage SQL / database testing experience desirable Strong engineering mindset and attention to detail Experience working in Agile delivery teams Desirable Experience in enterprise or regulated environments Cloud exposure (AWS, Azure, GCP) Fraud, digital or financial services experience Linux / Unix command line experience AI or data engineering exposure (nice to have) What’s on Offer Competitive daily rate Long‑term contract opportunity High‑profile enterprise program Supportive and skilled engineering team Hybrid working model in Sydney Apply / Enquire: If you’re an experienced Test Automation Engineer open to new contract opportunities in Sydney, get in touch to discuss further.
