The Role We are recruiting for UK trained GPs to join clinics established by a UK GP Great location that has DPA status 1 hour from Sydney. The UK trained GP owner will be in the UK in July and can meet doctors in person. There are positions available for GPs across three medical centres in the Wollongong area. The owner of these centres is a UK trained GP himself and is only looking for UK trained GPs to join him. He has taken great care in ensuring the workplaces are comfortable and pleasant. The focus is on quality health care with high levels of patient care, and he seeks GPs with the same ethos. The centres run to UK standards and benefit from a great location and climate. Over time they plan to develop further centres and become an accredited teaching practice. The centres accommodate four GPs each, are fully computerised by a linked system, have fully equipped treatment rooms, on‑site pathology, and staff includes an experienced practice manager, full‑time nurses, and receptionists. A full and in‑depth induction will be given on arrival. They operate as mixed‑billing clinics with a good patient base ready and waiting. Appointments are booked at 15 minutes (10 minutes max). Patient demographics are varied, with an above‑average population of over 65s, many working families, and potential nursing‑home services in the area. Opening hours are Monday–Friday 8am–6pm, with Saturdays shared on a 1‑in‑4 roster. Doctors are encouraged to work four days a week. 70% billings Minimum earnings guarantee for the first three months Partnership opportunity in the future Six weeks annual leave 8am to 6pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays Doctors are encouraged to work on four days a week Practical support on arrival and help with relocation Earnings up to $10,000 per week once up and running We’ve already placed a number of GPs in these practices in previous years who are thoroughly enjoying their new and fulfilling jobs The Location Wollongong lies 50 miles south of Sydney and has an approximate population of 300,000. It has beautiful beaches with a dramatic backdrop of green and sandstone of the Illawarra Escarpment. It’s the third largest city in NSW, has a multi‑cultural history and is a university town, adding to its international feel and cosmopolitan outlook, with people from over 100 countries having made their home there. The variety of restaurants, theatres, cinemas, pubs and clubs make for an active nightlife while the art galleries, museums, botanic gardens, beaches and activities offer plenty to do during the day.
