Student Support OfficerBranch: Shenton CollegeDivision: Independent Public School - North Metropolitan Education RegionSalary: Level 3, $81,448 - $87,376 per annum (pro‑rata)Work Type: Fixed Term – Full TimeLocation: Shenton ParkClosing Date: 30 PM The Role The successful applicant will collaborate closely with other staff within our existing support structures. They will join a community of motivated educators committed to ensuring the well‑being of every student at our college. The role of the Student Support Officer includes becoming a member of our Student Support Team and assisting in developing and introducing systems and intervention strategies which provide a responsive and effective support service for students, family members and staff. Your primary role will be to work with students at risk and their families. You should provide support and advice to staff on strategies to help students achieve successful educational outcomes. In addition, you will develop links with the student, the family, the college, and other appropriate community agencies, and establish a network of partnerships with government and non‑government agencies. You will join our multidisciplinary team in meetings and case conferences and be part of our college's crisis management response. Demonstrated effective planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities within timelines. Demonstrated good research, conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to identify problems and provide solutions. Demonstrated skills and experience in working with individual or small groups of students experiencing difficulties. Demonstrated knowledge of the youth sector, particularly local organisations and services. It is recommended you have your attachments ready before selecting Apply for Job.
