About the Role The Psychology Registrar position (Clinical Psychology / Clinical Neuropsychology / Forensic Psychology) forms part of the PYMHWS Entry Level Program (ELP), a structured and well-supported learning program within a clinical practice environment. This two year, fixed term role supports early career psychologists in developing a thorough understanding of a broad range of mental health presentations, as well as the psychological assessment and intervention skills required to work effectively in a public mental health setting. It also supports registrars in attaining specialist skills to work towards the relevant area of practice endorsement. What You’ll Do Provide evidence-based and phase-specific assessments and/or interventions to young people with mental health difficulties, including relevant clinical case management and psychological therapy. Work within a supportive, specialist, multidisciplinary team environment. Be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating appropriate treatment plans for young people and their families/carers. Carry a caseload of clients, participate in clinical review meetings and practice according to the philosophy and protocols of the service. Consolidate your learning through professional development and other learning activities. About You Completion of a Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology / Clinical Neuropsychology or Forensic Psychology (as relevant). Registration as a Psychologist under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) by the program start date, with eligibility to enter a registrar program as a Clinical, Forensic or Clinical Neuropsychologist (as relevant) with the Psychology Board of Australia. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with young people and their families. Capacity to provide case management. Ability to develop, implement and evaluate client-centred individual service plans, risk assessments, and diagnostic formulations. Knowledge of the rationale and evidence base for early intervention in mental illness. Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team, with evidence of sound collaboration and conflict resolution skills.
