This position is ideal for a practical, site‑focused HSEQ professional who enjoys working closely with operations and helping maintain a safe and compliant workplace. About the Project The Port Kembla Energy Terminal will strengthen Australia’s energy security as the nation’s first LNG import terminal. You’ll be part of an experienced, globally supported operations team committed to safe and efficient day‑to‑day performance. About the Role As the HSEQ Officer, you’ll support the implementation of safety, environmental and quality systems on site. Working under the guidance of the Management team, you’ll assist with inspections, inductions, reporting, training support and general HSEQ compliance activities that contribute to the safe operation of the terminal. Key Responsibilities Support contractor, staff and visitor inductions, ensuring PPE and basic HSEQ requirements are met. Assist with maintaining accurate HSEQ records, registers and reports, escalating issues when required. Help implement HSEQ procedures in line with legislation and company standards. Conduct routine site inspections to identify hazards or non‑compliances for follow‑up by senior staff. Support toolbox talks, site safety drills and general HSEQ training activities. Assist with internal audits aligned to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements. Under supervision, support hazardous waste handling and correct segregation in accordance with site procedures. Skills and Experience 3-5 years’ experience in HSEQ roles ideally within heavy industry. Understanding of WHS legislation, environmental obligations and risk management principles. Exposure to ISO management systems (9001/14001/45001) Training and experience in confined space, working at heights, hot works or lifting operations (Advantageous) Strong communication, observation and reporting skills. Relevant qualification in WHS, Environmental Science or a related field (Cert IV WHS highly regarded). Proactive, hands‑on approach and ability to work effectively with operations teams.
