CG FX Artist Join Flying Bark Productions as a CG FX Artist and help bring visual effects to life for high-profile animation projects including Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film, Netflix's Ghostbusters animated series, and Stranger Things animated series. Company Overview Flying Bark Productions is a dynamic, independent studio dedicated to pushing the boundaries of character animation and storytelling. With over 50 years of experience, our 2D and 3D production facility has created award‑winning feature films and TV series. We are currently working on exciting projects such as the Avatar film, Ghostbusters animated series, Stranger Things animated series, and Tales From Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan. Responsibilities Create and manage FX setups and propagations for shots, including fire, smoke, water, particles, and other simulations under the guidance of the CG FX Supervisor and CG Supervisor. Produce high‑quality FX that align with the artistic vision and internal technical workflow of the project. Assist in maintaining the library of effects presets, ensuring presets can be loaded and applied across multiple shots. Generate compatible caches for export into various software, rendering effects in image‑format elements as required. Provide training and ongoing support for junior crew members when needed. Qualifications Senior level experience (7+ years) in CG animated features or episodic production—live action experience not required. Portfolio demonstrating mature, graphic stylisation of reality; preferred styles include Spider‑verse, Entergalactic, Arcane, and The Witness. Demo reel focused on FX work for CG animated films or episodic content. Expertise in Houdini and Katana, proficiency in Arnold, and familiarity with Maya and Nuke are advantageous. Ability to execute look‑dev and high‑quality 3D effects, covering particles, fluids, destruction, and other customary CG effects. Benefits Hybrid workplace with flexible work‑from‑home days.
