General Hand / Forklift operator - Boatyard White Bay 6 Marine Park is seeking a reliable and adaptable Full-Time General Hand / Forklift Operator to join our award-winning team. This role is primarily Monday to Friday , with occasional weekend work to support our busy dry-storage operation. This is a hands‑on position within our shipyard, involving cleaning, preparing, and painting boat hulls , as well as providing support to our dry‑stack facility , where vessels are launched and retrieved using a Marina Bull forklift. An aptitude and willingness to progress toward marina forklift operation is essential. The successful candidate must hold a current forklift license and be open to training in the use of our specialist boat‑handling and boat‑moving equipment . What you'll be doing Assisting with the launching and retrieval of boats using a Marina Bull forklift Working primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts Preparing and cleaning boat hulls Applying protective coatings, including antifoul paint and propeller treatments Safely operating power tools and equipment (training provided) Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area Working both independently and as part of a team to deliver quality results What we're looking for Current forklift licence (essential ) Valid LF licence required for forklift operation Availability Monday to Friday , plus flexibility for occasional weekend work Previous experience with power tools (preferred but not essential) Confidence in operating machinery and equipment Willingness to learn and be trained in large forklift operation Strong work ethic with a focus on high‑quality results Friendly, approachable, and willing to assist wherever needed Good time management and organisational skills Commitment to safe work practices and workplace health & safety What we offer Competitive hourly rates Supportive, team‑focused workplace culture On‑the‑job training, including upskilling in specialist boat‑handling equipment Opportunity to work in a dynamic waterfront environment at Sydney's leading marine facility #J-18808-Ljbffr
