Paying $156k inclusive of super (total package) – $139,285 + super. Melbourne CBD location with WFH flexibility. Permanent position. About the Role Our client is a well known VIC State government organisation managing and protecting Melbourne's major water resources. They are currently seeking a Senior Systems Accountant to join their team in Melbourne CBD on a permanent contract. Key Qualifications Tertiary degree in Finance, Commerce, and/or Information Systems. Extensive experience in accounting roles with a focus on financial systems or systems accounting, including implementations and upgrades. Experience using the TechOne system. Strong knowledge and experience of complex financial technologies management (e.g., general ledger, query, and reporting). Strong financial modelling skills – ability to quickly analyse large amounts of data. Strong analytical, variance analysis, forecasting, and accounting skills. Intermediate knowledge of accounting concepts and financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow). Strong Microsoft Excel skills and good skills in Microsoft Word. Key Responsibilities Maintain and manage all finance & risk technologies within the Finance, Risk & Commercial Services (FR&CS) team, focusing on systems like TechOne. Maintain and enhance the integrity of the finance system, ensuring accurate reconciliation across all ledgers and modules. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system and integration related issues, overseeing the implementation of long‑term solutions. Partner with IT, finance, and business stakeholders to align system capabilities with business requirements and deliver smarter, more streamlined processes. Lead the month‑end and year‑end close processes, including system rollover, system reconciliation, and analysis. Play a pivotal role in system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations in collaboration with IT and external vendors. Provide user training and guidance on financial systems and reporting tools to optimise customer service.
