Carpenter – Steel Frame Installation (First Fix) Frametec designs, manufactures and installs precision-engineered light gauge steel framing for residential and low‑rise projects across WA. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our dynamic team and contribute to the successful delivery of our projects. The Role: As a Carpenter at Frametec, you’ll be installing precision‑made light gauge steel wall frames, trusses, and structural components on residential and low‑rise sites across Perth and regional WA. The work is clean, efficient, and ideal for carpenters who enjoy accuracy, problem solving, and quality outcomes. This role covers the recognized duties of a First Fix Carpenter under the Australian migration occupation criteria, including: Interpreting and working from architectural and structural plans Setting out building lines, levels and framing locations Installing wall frames, roof trusses, floor systems and associated structural components Assembling and fixing steel framing members using power tools, screw fixing and mechanical anchors Measuring, cutting and preparing framing materials on site Installing bracing, tie‑downs and structural fixings in accordance with NCC and NASH standards Ensuring structural alignment, plumb, straightness and tolerances Coordinating with builders, supervisors and other trades on site Following all site safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised work area What We’re Looking For Qualified Carpenter or minimum 3 years of relevant first‑fix experience Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications Strong knowledge of first‑fix carpentry, structural framing, set‑out and load‑bearing assemblies Experience with steel framing is ideal, but timber‑first carpenters are encouraged to apply — full training provided Confident with drills, screw guns, laser levels and site measuring tools Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or as part of a crew Driver’s licence and own tools (or willingness to obtain tools suitable for steel framing) Why Join Frametec?
