Technical Lead

We are a fast growing team building innovative AI solutions for the real world. We specialise in developing sophisticated AI engines to analyse and transform unstructured real world data into structured enterprise insights to power workflow automations, data analytics, and custom reports. Our first product, "Billie Onsite" demonstrates the use cases of our technology in construction and facilities management, where onsite assessments in voice recordings, photos and text are verified against project specifications and legislations to form actionable reports and work orders. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Technical Lead (Team Lead) to guide the technical direction and team execution for a key project. You will be a full-stack expert, proficient in AWS cloud services and the React / React Native ecosystem. As the cornerstone of the team, you will be responsible not only for architecting, designing, and coding critical features but also for mentoring team members and ensuring the timely, high-quality delivery of the project. About You You have the ambition to build a product that users truly love Find excitement and satisfaction from solving the hardest problems You want to grow with the company and have a "never not my job" attitude Laser-focused when executing tasks Take pride in being an over-achiever in beating management expectations Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Project Management (40%) Lead a cross-functional development team, overseeing project technical planning, task breakdown, and delivery timelines. Design and implement robust, scalable, secure, and highly available system architectures. Make key technical decisions and lead the charge in resolving complex technical challenges. Establish and enforce coding standards, code review processes, and best practices to ensure code quality. Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Build efficient, serverless backend services and APIs using AWS Lambda. Design, configure, and manage Amazon RDS databases, optimizing for query performance and data security. Utilize AWS ECS to deploy and manage containerized applications, ensuring high service availability. Configure and manage AWS Load Balancers for efficient traffic distribution and high system availability. Manage and maintain other relevant AWS services (e.g., API Gateway, S3, IAM, CloudWatch). Frontend & Mobile Development (30%) Develop and maintain high-performance, responsive web applications using React. Develop cross-platform mobile applications using React Native and the Expo framework. Ensure a consistent and seamless user experience across mobile and web platforms. Build reusable front-end components and libraries. Qualifications & Required Skills 4+ years of professional full-stack development experience, with at least 2 years in a Tech Lead or Team Lead role. Deep expertise in core AWS services with proven experience in : AWS RDS: Database design, optimization, backup, and recovery. AWS Lambda: Serverless architecture development, function writing, and debugging. AWS ECS: Containerized deployment (Docker), cluster, and service management. AWS Load Balancer: Configuration and management of Application / Network Load Balancers (ALB / NLB). Proficiency in Frontend & Mobile technologies : React: Deep understanding of Hooks, Redux / MobX, Component Lifecycle, etc. React Native: Experience developing and shipping production-ready applications for iOS and Android. Expo: Familiarity with the Expo development workflow, build processes, and deployment. Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and motivate team members. Strong system design, problem-analysis, and resolution abilities. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate / Professional, Developer Associate). Experience designing and implementing microservices architecture. Familiarity with setting up and maintaining CI / CD pipelines (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Knowledge of Agile development methodologies (Scrum / Kanban). Additional Tools & Ownership Have experience in using Cursor to maximise productivity. Have strong ownership of the product developed by you and strong self-motivation.
