Your new role as a workshop Plant Mechanic will report to the Workshop Supervisor in a permanent full‑time residential position based in Kalgoorlie. The Plant Mechanic is responsible for carrying scheduled maintenance, service and repairs including diagnosing all Caterpillar machines. This WesTrac branch is located in Kalgoorlie, WA and is an authorised Caterpillar dealership where you can find a wide range of Cat products, parts, services and technologies. Our Kalgoorlie team provides Cat machinery solutions to suit any earthmoving business, including new and used equipment sales, heavy equipment rental, and parts, servicing and merchandise. Location: Kalgoorlie – must be residential or willing to relocate with own housing Roster: 8 days on, 6 off – 10.5 hrs each day (incl. of 30‑minute meal break) What You’ll Do Perform scheduled and daily maintenance servicing and inspections of mobile mining earth‑moving and ancillary plant equipment. Maintain accurate lubricant records and machine hours of each equipment. Provide support to our tradespersons through the maintenance process safely and efficiently. Report faults/defects and complete service reports using CAT Inspect. Operate forklift. Skills & Experience Australian Driver’s Licence – Light Rigid OR Medium Rigid. Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Technology trade certificate with post‑trade experience. High‑Risk Work Licence – Forklift (FL), Dogging (DG), Rigging (RG), Working at Heights (WAH), Confined Spaces (CSE). Strong computer literacy with verbal and written communication skills. Experience in maintenance servicing of heavy equipment (mobile plant / ancillary). Excellent customer service and safety‑focused. Confident to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team.
