An exciting opportunity is available to join our fast-growing, dynamic national retail chain as part of our buying team About You We’re looking for a Buyer Assistant who is driven, ready for a challenge, and eager to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. If you have a passion for toys and love discovering the latest and greatest collectibles from Australia and overseas, this role is for you We need someone detail-oriented, analytical, and goal-driven to contribute to a critical and growing area of our business. About Us At Toymate, we bring joy to families with an extensive range of toys, featuring top brands like LEGO, Barbie, Pokémon, and VTech. As Australia’s #1 toy store, we are committed to being the ultimate destination where children and families can experience the magic of play. Key Responsibilities Assist with administrative tasks to support the buying team. Maintain accurate SKU data integrity. Raise and manage purchase orders. Allocate stock efficiently. Build and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers. Track market trends and competitor activity locally and overseas. Analyse sales data and recommend action points to the Buyer. Coordinate and review catalogues and promotional programs. Review private label packaging for accuracy and quality. Communicate with stores to ensure effective execution of product ranges. Conduct regular store visits to assess displays, gather feedback, and implement improvements. Skills & Qualifications 1+ years of experience in buying, merchandising, or a similar role (preferred). Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.). Strong attention to detail. Excellent time management, organisation, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
