They are a self-performing civil contractor with an outstanding reputation for quality delivery in the commercial building and local government sectors. They own and operate their own plant, machinery, and in-house construction crews, ensuring greater control over time, cost, and safety. The company is well known for its hands‑on leadership, supportive environment, and long‑term client relationships. The Opportunity As Project Manager, you’ll take full ownership of multiple civil infrastructure projects from estimating handover through to completion. You’ll manage every phase — planning, delivery, financial performance, and client communication — while mentoring your team and ensuring that all projects are delivered to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and within budget Lead project planning, programming, and resource allocation, including procurement of subcontractors and materials Manage financial performance, progress claims, cost tracking, and forecasting to maintain profitability across projects Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring open communication and repeat business Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to Site Engineers, Project Engineers, and Supervisors Oversee site compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards Review project performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive continuous improvement Work closely with the estimating and senior management teams to ensure seamless handovers and accurate project setup What You Need To Succeed 6 -10+ years’ experience in civil construction (commercial Buildings, council roads, or subdivision works) Strong technical understanding of earthworks, pavements, drainage, and services Experience working within or leading self-performing teams (preferred) Proven capability to manage multiple concurrent projects Confident communicator with strong leadership, organisation, and problem-solving skills Based ideally in Melbourne’s Western or Northern suburbs Willingness to travel around greater Melbourne Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Only candidates with local contractor experience who are Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or hold full working rights will be considered What You Need To Do Now If you believe your skills and experience align with the requirements of this position, please submit your application or contact Luke Grakovich directly for a confidential discussion.Should your background be relevant but this role not entirely suitable, we still welcome the opportunity to connect and explore other potential opportunities.
