About the Role Lead the Future of Good Governance at the City of Canada Bay Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for governance excellence, risk leadership and driving organisational performance? The City of Canada Bay is searching for a Manager Governance, Risk and Strategy to champion the frameworks that keep our Council accountable, future‑focused and delivering for our community. Key Responsibilities Drive the core of Council’s governance function, delivering high‑quality agendas and minutes for Council and ARIC meetings with precision and integrity. Safeguard transparency through rigorous oversight of Council’s policies, procedures and delegations. Empower our people with expert training and advice on delegations and authorisations. Steer our Audit & Risk Management Framework, coordinate internal audit, and ensure compliance with key NSW local government regulations and guidelines. Oversee Council’s insurance portfolio to keep coverage robust, current and fit for purpose. Lead our Integrated Planning & Reporting framework, shaping corporate plans that guide long‑term community success. Drive continuous improvement through our Service Review Program and champion business process optimisation across the organisation. Guide our Corporate Project Lead and accelerate strategic programmes of work that deliver real impact. Qualifications Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience. Strong research, analysis and document preparation skills. Solid understanding of good governance and Council operations. Experience working in a political environment. Proven budget management capability. Skill in resolving sensitive and complex stakeholder issues. Expert knowledge of key Local Government legislation and guidelines. Broad knowledge of Privacy, GIPA, State Records and WHS requirements.
