We have sort of grown up - now in our 20th year of baking and have many outlets throughout Sydney.We still make everything by hand (mostly), with love and the best ingredients - the combination of great produce, artisanal skills, hard work, and our knowledge makes Bourke Street Bakery the institution it is today.The Role as a Production Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:Enhancing the day-to-day efficiency of your dedicated production line and team for Bakery and Cafe Products and Pastry.Supervising and leading a team of 15-20 skilled professionals.Rostering, overseeing leave requests and other HR functions.Applying problem-solving expertise in a handmade and automated equipment environment.Championing a culture of safety and quality through training, setting high standards, and leading by example.Setting up and maintaining process flows and additional processes for the team.Mentoring, coaching, and training operational staff to ensure clear understanding and consistent accountability.Collaborating with the Production Manager to swiftly identify and rectify quality issues.Generating reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).Promptly reporting any major malfunctions of plant and equipment to the Production Manager and Operations Manager.Always Maintaining impeccable housekeeping standards.Taking a proactive approach to drive efficiency improvementsTo excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:Previous experience in Food Manufacturing in FMCG, Medium to Large Bakery and or Large-Scale Catering.You are a baker, chef or pastry chef with experience managing a team and processes to deliver quality and commercial outcomes.Willingness to workday, night and weekend shifts.Hands-on with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.Exceptional communication skills.You are versatile, adaptable and relish change.The ability to meet deadlines and achieve production targets consistently.A self-motivated and autonomous work ethic, coupled with a strong team spirit.Experience with HACCAP, AQ Systems and process and OH&SAmbitious individuals looking to advance their careers – this role offers an excellent pathway to future opportunities and promotions.Applicants must have full work rights in Australia to apply.Ability to use excel, Deputy, Foodstorm, and other manufacturing software.You love food and the world of bakery - and are meticulous about quality, always looking at ways to improve the processes for better quality outcomes.
