About the Role As a Procurement and Contracts Specialist at Cowal, you’ll be at the forefront of sourcing and commercial strategy in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Reporting to the Supply Superintendent, you’ll be responsible for leading strategic sourcing activities, developing commercial agreements, and supporting contract governance across a diverse portfolio. What sets this role apart? Front end focus: You’ll be hands on with tendering, negotiation, and contract setup so less admin, more action. Agile environment: Expect variety, autonomy, and the chance to juggle multiple high-value contracts simultaneously. Strategic influence: You’ll help shape sourcing strategies and build key supplier relationships that drive real outcomes. Whether it’s a $200K engineering contract or a $5M services agreement, you’ll be making a tangible impact every day: most packages typically land in this range, with the occasional larger outlier. About You You’re a contract savvy operator who thrives in dynamic environments. You bring tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Business, Commerce or Law (or equivalent experience), and ideally 5+ years in mining or heavy industry. You know how to get things done, and you don’t get bogged down in the data, you push projects forward. What motivates you? Delivering results in a fast moving, operationally focused setting. Building strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. Working flexibly while maintaining high standards of accountability.
