We are seeking a Debating Assistant to join our co-curricular team on a casual basis. Working closely with our Debating Convenor, this role will attend the debates with our students each Tuesday afternoon and evening in Terms 1 and 2, and Friday afternoon and evening in Term 2 and 3, to ensure the smooth running of the debating program. The debates are held at various schools and locations including onsite at Ravenswood. The candidates must be available on Tuesday’s and Friday’s from 3.00pm â 9.30pm (the finish time may vary slightly each week depending upon where the debate is being held.) At Ravenswood, we wish to excite students’ interest in pursuing their studies both in the classroom and through co-curricular experiences. The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience working with students, teachers, parents and external parties in a school setting. Qualifications and Experience Ability to follow any Debating competition rules and regulations whilst working within school procedures; Experience communicating with students, teachers, parents and external parties; Experience with Microsoft Office suite and ability to use other web-based management applications; Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team; Experience participating in, coaching or organising Debating in a school or other setting; Experience with management systems such as Clipboard and Synergetic.
