Base pay range A$156,000.00/yr - A$178,000.00/yr Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer , which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence . Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security. We currently have an opportunity for a Field Service Representative in Brisbane to work on Land projects. What You’ll Do This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including: On-Site Technical Support : Provide equipment diagnostics, fault resolution, and network troubleshooting across Defence sites and training areas. IBMS Installation & Upgrades : Install, commission, and upgrade IBMS hardware and software, including system integration testing and acceptance trials. Training Delivery & Exercise Support : Travel to user locations to deliver hands‑on training and operational support during Defence exercises. Engineering Liaison & Product Improvement : Collaborate with engineering teams to report defects, suggest design enhancements, and support continuous improvement. Compliance & Standards Adherence : Ensure all activities meet CASG and Defence safety, security, probity, and technical standards. What You’ll Bring ADF C4I & Tactical Network Expertise : Strong understanding of ADF C4I systems, TCN equipment, and experience with IBTN, MPE, and tactical C2 applications. Network Diagnostics & Configuration : Proven ability to diagnose and resolve network, signal, and interface issues across virtual and physical environments. Technical Certifications & Trade Qualifications : Relevant tertiary or industry certifications, including RHEL, Cisco, and Army trade qualifications (ECN661/662/665 or equivalent). Field Readiness & Autonomy : Willingness to travel frequently, work in variable environments, and operate independently to meet project goals. Communication & Team Collaboration : Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills for stakeholder liaison, training delivery, and multi‑disciplinary teamwork. Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
