Senior Accountant – Animal Welfare League Queensland Take the next step in your accounting career at Animal Welfare League of Queensland (AWLQ), a leading charity dedicated to animal welfare. This permanent, full‑time role offers a salary range of $85,000–$90,000 p.a. plus superannuation, and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Opportunity AWLQ is experiencing growth and change, and we need a Senior Accountant who can contribute with positivity, resilience, and accurate, compliant financial management. Your responsibilities will include overseeing accounting functions, managing day‑to‑day finance operations, delivering timely month‑end reporting, and ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards. Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting: Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, support month‑end tasks, and ensure GST and statutory compliance. Team & Operational Support: Supervise finance operations, coach team members, and maintain open communication with the CFO. Relationship Management: Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to optimise outcomes. Essential Qualifications & Experience Minimum 3+ years in a similar financial role within a medium‑sized organisation. Detailed knowledge of AASB accounting principles and GST. Strong data entry, reconciliation, organisational and Excel skills. Current Driver’s Licence. Desirable Criteria Tertiary accounting qualification (preferred).
