About the Opportunity Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for supply chain management? Join Metcash as a Supply Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract, where you'll play a crucial role in fostering strong supplier relationships and ensuring seamless service for customers. In this role, you will be responsible for managing supplier engagement and collaborating with Metcash's internal teams to deliver optimal service, cost efficiency, and inventory outcomes. If you're ready to make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you In this Role Mentor and support Integrated Supplier Partnership Planners and Supply Planners, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in Metcash systems and processes Represent Metcash’s internal teams, including State Teams and National Trading Teams - in supplier discussions to ensure optimised inventory outcomes Identify key suppliers, anticipate supply challenges, and implement solutions to improve efficiency Oversee the exchange of vital supply chain data between Metcash and Distribution Centre (DC) suppliers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Lead collaboration sessions between Metcash Trading and Replenishment Teams, Supplier Account Managers, and Supply Chain experts Drive service, inventory, and cost improvements in line with Metcash’s KPIs and strategic goals Manage shared forecasting efforts between Metcash and suppliers, ensuring proactive planning and alignment Lead major initiatives such as seasonal launches, supplier-led projects, promotions, IT upgrades, and store openings/closures to deliver best-in-class results Act as the key link between supplier logistics teams and Metcash’s supply chain operations Serve as a subject matter expert, driving key project initiatives to improve processes and operational efficiency You’re Likely a Match If Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within Retail or FMCG with a focus on supply chain and planning Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing teams to achieve operational success Skilled in negotiation, influence, and effective communication at all levels Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building across locations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for optimal inventory management in a fast-paced environment Expertise in supplier management, including onboarding, relationship management, and performance optimisation What’s on offer We’re proud to offer a workplace that supports your well-being, growth, and belonging: ️ Extra Leave: Enjoy a 5th week of annual leave, 2 well-being days, plus 1 volunteer day annually Career Growth: Endless learning and development opportunities Parental Leave: 12 weeks of gender-neutral paid leave for primary carers
