Diesel Fitters/Maintenance/ Marine Technicians Pacific Marine Group (PMG) is a premier marine contractor excelling in the Maritime Industry across Northern Australia and the Pacific Rim. With approximately 180 dedicated professionals, we specialise in Maintenance, Marine, Diving, and Construction. Our expertise allows us to efficiently manage and integrate projects across these diverse areas. Role Overview In response to our ongoing expansion and upcoming projects, PMG is seeking experienced and qualified Maintenance/Marine Technicians / Diesel Fitters to join our thriving Maintenance Department in Townsville. There are full-time and casual positions available, offering the chance to work on a variety of machinery and equipment, with potential for exciting project opportunities both locally and along the east coast of Australia. What We Offer Location: Based in Townsville with the benefit of returning home each night—NO FIFO. Project work: Availability to work on projects both nationally and internationally on a great day rate. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm, with potential for overtime and weekend work. Variety: Engage in diverse maintenance tasks involving PMG marine vessels, hydraulic equipment, cranes/forklifts, power packs, and generators. Professional Growth: Opportunities for upskilling and cross-skilling, including potential training in crane and marine qualifications. Candidate Requirements Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Diesel Fitting, Mechanical Fitting or a related field, including Marine, hydraulics, Cranes and heavy-duty Winches (15 Tonne plus). Skills: Strong fault-finding abilities, mechanically minded, and a keen eye for detail. Experience: Previous experience with a variety of equipment and machinery. Attributes: Self-motivated with a positive outlook, goal-focused, and effective communication skills. Desirable: Construction Industry White Card and High-Risk Work Licenses (e.g., Forklift, Rigging, Dogging, Crane), experience with hydraulics, auto electrical or crane maintenance. Safety: Commitment to high safety standards and willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing, and potentially a medical and/or police check.
