Employment Details Employment Type: Temporary 6 - 12 month Contract from 2nd of Feb 26 Remuneration: $89,095.00 to $139,187.00 Hours Per Week: 38 Where you'll be working Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services. Wollongong is located an hour’s drive south of Sydney on a narrow coastal strip bordered by the Royal National Park to the north, Lake Illawarra to the south, the Tasman Sea to the east and the Illawarra Escarpment to the west. Learn more about the lifestyle benefits of living and working in Wollongong What you’ll be doing The primary purpose of an Advanced Trainee in Anaesthetics is to provide advanced level anaesthetic practice in a complex clinical environment, whilst under supervision as part of the advanced training program of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Advanced Trainees are expected to demonstrate a higher level of knowledge and skills prior to entering a fellowship year across key areas of anaesthetics, including: anaesthesia and sedation regional anaesthesia airway management pain medicine perioperative medicine resuscitation trauma and crisis management Applicants must register or be registered as an ANZCA Trainee. The hospital is accredited for four (4) years of training. Minimum of 6-12 months experience in Anesthesia is required. Qualifications and Experience Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role. Advanced ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care. Advanced communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience. Advanced organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment. Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. Advanced ability to remain calm and act constructively when faced with high pressure situations or unpredictable environments. Previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
