Field Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with fire safety regulations. Duties & Responsibilities: Project coordination: Managing schedules, resources, and teams to ensure timely completion of fire protection installations (e.g., firestopping, fire doors, intumescent coatings). Compliance and quality control: Ensuring all work meets relevant fire safety standards and regulations. Team management: Supervising technicians and site staff, providing training, and maintaining performance. Health & safety: Enforcing safety protocols and risk assessments on all sites. Client liaison: Communicating with clients to ensure satisfaction and manage expectations. Procurement and logistics: Coordinating materials, tools, and equipment needed for each project. Conduct site inspections (scoping, passive fire issues, and compliance checks). Lead, mentor, and coordinate teams, including training employees on procedures, phone support, and technical questions. Updating site and height allowances in SimPRO as you go per the schedule. Seek for approval outside of working hours works and organise with CFMEU. Qualifications: Cert IV in Carpentry/Walls & Ceilings or similar (Relevant industry Licences and certifications). Cert IV or Min. Cert II in Passive Fire Protection. Workplace Health and Safety Qld Construction Induction (White Card). Current Drivers Licence. Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the construction or fire protection industry, ideally in a supervisory or management role. Proven track record of managing multiple projects or teams. Experience working with registering and management systems (e.g., SIMPRO, Clarinspect). Knowledge of quality assurance, inspections, and compliance documentation. Skills: Ability to run tight programs on time with quality, safety and client taking priority. Strong knowledge and understanding of Commercial Construction - passive fire protection systems (e.g., firestopping, cavity barriers, intumescent coatings, fire doors). Excellent project management and organisational skills. Strong leadership and team coordination abilities. Good understanding of fire safety legislation, building regulations, and compliance • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Penetration Register Software (e.g., Clarinspect, Control Docs, Pentrack), project management software (e.g., SimPro, Asana, Smartsheet, Trello), Aconex and document management systems. Clear communication and client-facing skills. Leadership, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. Strategic time, resource, risk and stakeholder management.
