Job Summary Our fully automated Surface Mount Device (SMD) production line is the heart of our manufacturing operations. As a Surface Mount Operator, you will play a key role in driving this process—operating advanced surface mount machinery to ensure our printed circuit boards (PCBs) meet the highest standards of quality and precision. In this role, you'll be responsible not only for machine operation but also for maintaining equipment performance, optimising processes and supporting the timely delivery of products. Key Responsibilities Kitting for new jobs and booking new parts to the SMD system Setup and operate a variety of surface mount machines, including Stencil Printing, Jet Printing, Pick & Place, Vapour Phase and Reflow Ovens Basic machine troubleshooting and process optimisation Perform routine checks and maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance Work as part of the team of Surface Mount operators and technicians to deliver the highest quality products in a timely fashion SMD inspection of in‑process manufacturing and a keen eye for quality Other tasks as directed by the Team Leader or Manufacturing Manager Qualifications and Experience Experience in electronics manufacturing Minimum 1–2 years of electronics manufacturing experience required Familiarity with a variety of electronics components Experience operating complex machinery, ideally SMT machines Proficient SMT operator experience with demonstrated competency in surface mount technology machines Strong attention to detail and analytical skills High degree of self‑motivation and ability to work independently Excellent problem‑solving abilities and keenness to learn CAD software packages (Altium) Familiarity with Mycronic equipment LEAN Manufacturing methodology Why work at Elexon Electronics? 9 Day FortnightProfessional development, career advancement and personal growth opportunities.
