About The Role We are seeking a Supervising Scientist/Laboratory Manager to join our team of talented individuals at our Tamworth laboratory. Working in a team of 3 and reporting to the Laboratory Operations Manager, this is a dynamic role managing the supervision of laboratory staff as well as hands on laboratory work. Your responsibilities will include: Supervising a laboratory with twoother medical scientists in a multi-disciplinary setting (Biochemistry, Haematology/Coagulation/Blood Bank) Prioritising work-flows to meet client’s requirements Ensuring results are released within agreed turnaround times Liaising with senior staff and Pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results Overseeing the management of laboratory equipment to ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, scheduled routine maintenance is performed, and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required Reviewing and updating all laboratory documentation as required About You To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including: An AIMS accredited tertiary Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent At least 3 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary environment Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships Experience in working under tight deadlines to meet day to day targets, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks within set timeline Results orientated and a proactive and effective problem solver Proven skills in defining, prioritising, and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines Ability to demonstrate the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity We believe everyone leads, no matter what role they are in.
