The Shed Café at Marketown offers a warm, relaxed, and earthy café experience inspired by home-style cooking, fresh flavours, and exceptional coffee made from premium 100% Arabica beans. Our kitchen team is passionate about honest food, creativity, and providing a memorable experience for every guest. We are looking for an experienced Chef who shares our values and can bring consistency, energy, and craft to our vibrant café environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook high-quality café dishes in line with The Shed Café's standards Support the Head Chef/Sous Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen following food-safety guidelines Oversee stock rotation, monitor inventory, and report shortages promptly Ensure consistent portion control, plating, and presentation across all menu items Contribute to menu development, seasonal specials, and recipe refinement Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen team members Coordinate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service Uphold café procedures for food preparation, storage, and sustainability initiatives Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef or similar commercial kitchen role Solid understanding of café-style cooking, preparation methods, and kitchen equipment Demonstrated experience in breakfast and brunch preparation and service Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong teamwork, multitasking, and communication skills Relevant culinary qualification is preferred but not mandatory Must have Australian work rights Competitive salary + superannuation Staff meals and in-store discounts Friendly and supportive workplace culture Opportunities for career development within a growing café brand How to Apply Be careful - Don’t provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
