Role Overview Reporting into the Finance Manager, this Assistant Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of financial reporting and accounting of key business units. You will be supporting all month-end related tasks including weekly and monthly financial reporting and month-end close activities. Day to day this will include processing journals, transactional reconciliations, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and conducting daily bank reconciliations and all intercompany transactions. In addition, as the Assistant Accountant you will have the responsibility to maintain the fixed asset register. This role will also allow you to develop your analytical skills through preparing labour reports, WIP analysis and job costing reports. This will ensure you are interacting with a range of stakeholders and gain a clear picture of the wider business. Responsibilities Intercompany transactions Bank reconciliations General ledger reconciliations Journals AP / AR processing Financial reporting on all entities Job reporting analysis Cost reporting analysis Labor Reporting Fixed asset analysis and reporting Balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts P&L accounts Ad hoc transactions and reporting Candidate Profile You are highly energetic and proactive in your thinking, wishing to be in a critical role driving performance for a business. You are Accounting qualified (CA or CPA- not essential) and have a strong understanding of a complex multi‑entity P&L. Industry experience is essential coming from a Construction, Civil or project‑based environment. With exceptional communication skills that you leverage in shaping positive working relationships, you are flexible in working through ambiguity in a fast‑paced environment.
