Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Mental Health Nurse Level 5 - Remuneration Package Range $160,157 - $166,812 (including salary $136,235 - $143,391) + allowances Top End Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service Darwin One full time vacancy is available, either ongoing or fixed for 2 years The Role As the Nurse Clinical Coordinator - Mental Health you will provide high-level advice related to assessment, planning, review, evaluation, and coordination of client care in mental health. You’ll be working alongside the multidisciplinary Mental Health Access Team to provide patient-centred care in community and hospital settings, in line with the National Standards for Mental Health Nursing. You’ll also collaborate with the Mental Health Access Team Manager to ensure that the team is working efficiently and effectively and may be required to step in and relieve the Team Manager when needed. Our Services NT Health’s Top End Mental Health Services offer a diverse and dynamic range of programs supporting individuals across all stages of life. Key services include the Mental Health Access Team (MHAT), a 24/7 single point of contact for crisis assessment and referrals, and inpatient care through Cowdy Ward, Joan Ridley Unit, and the Youth Inpatient Program. Community-based teams provide tailored support for adults, children, adolescents, and perinatal clients, while remote outreach and forensic services extend care to rural communities and justice-involved individuals. Our multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to deliver culturally sensitive, recovery-focused care across the Top End. About you You’re a dedicated mental health practitioner with strong clinical skills and a commitment to person-centred care. To be successful in this role you’ll have: Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same. Ability to meet required authorised standards of a Designated Mental Health Practitioner in accordance with the NT Mental Health and Related Services Act (1998). Advanced clinical knowledge, skills and experience in mental health or related areas, supported by strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills. Proven ability to understand and apply professional knowledge to provide accurate advice and effective support within a multidisciplinary team. Experience contributing to the development and implementation of local/regional policies, interpreting existing guidelines, and supporting change within the organisation. Well‑developed knowledge and understanding of social and cultural factors influencing the provision of health care. Ongoing appointment is subject to attainment of Graduate Diploma, or equivalent, beyond entry‑to‑practice in Mental Health or related area.
