Stormwater Engineering Team Leader Location: Doncaster East, Victoria Employment type: Full-time, permanent position Salary: Band 7 ($110,535.17 to $123,685.38) + 12% Superannuation Based at the Depot, Doncaster East. Overview Lead the Stormwater Engineering team with impact, drive innovation and sustainability, and inspire a high-performing, inclusive team. Responsibilities Build and shape a high-performing Stormwater Engineering team from the ground up, fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture. Mentor engineers to deliver innovative solutions that enhance flood resilience, improve network capacity, and manage critical stormwater assets. Oversee a diverse portfolio of projects, including complex flood investigations, capital works, and stormwater programs. Provide expert advice on development applications, ensuring the longevity of Council’s infrastructure and system capacity while balancing growth demands. Embed sustainability principles and champion emerging technologies across all projects. Influence outcomes, build stakeholder relationships, and drive strategic development projects and outcomes. Qualifications & Skills Registered Professional Engineer or on a pathway to registration with a minimum of a Washington Accord recognised accreditation that meets registration requirements. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil engineering. Experienced people leader capable of developing and delivering against set objectives and budgets across programmes and projects. Excellent communicator with a demonstrated ability to prepare succinct written reports. Highly developed interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external management, staff, and the community. Strong collaborator who adds value to the organisation and maintains relationships with stakeholders. Strong leader who can engage and lead staff in a positive direction while setting, developing and promoting a proactive culture.
