We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeping Manager to take ownership of our bookkeeping function and help shape the future of our growth. This is a key role in our small, forward-thinking firm where you’ll work directly with the owner and lead a team of three bookkeepers. Your responsibilities will include: Reviewing all bookkeeping work, monthly close, reporting, and BAS for accuracy and compliance Mentoring junior staff and managing workflow to ensure deadlines are met Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide support Developing and implementing internal processes and efficiency improvements Handling complex bookkeeping matters such as software integrations, Xero clean-ups, and management reporting Collaborating with the director on strategic initiatives (we’ve got some exciting projects in the pipeline) What We’re Looking For You’re the right fit if you: Are detail-oriented and never let things slip through the cracks Take pride in producing high-quality work Focus on outcomes, not just hours (we don’t do timesheets) Spot opportunities for improvement and aren’t afraid to make changes Know how to coach and support junior staff to get the best out of them Communicate clearly, kindly, and proactively with clients Have experience working in an accounting/bookkeeping firm managing a group of clients What does a typical day look like Our days always start with planning. We don't want to be busy, we want to get the right things done You'll assist the team to plan their day, week and month and monitor workflow to ensure we're getting through the work. During the mornings you're available to assist the team with queries, review work, make meaningful improvements to processes and complete on the job training for junior staff.
