About the role The Rail Operations Supervisor’s primary objective is to manage train crew operations and rail operations in a safe, environmentally sensitive and efficient manner. This involves the development and monitoring of operations and activities and train crew training. This position is also responsible for managing train crewing resources, rostering, locomotives and wagon allocations that meets QLRS business requirements. Role Location: West Melbourne, VIC Role Type: Full Time What your role at Qube will look like: Demonstrate and disseminate a positive safety culture throughout all levels of the business and operations Mentor and encourage employee consultation programs that add value to site safety, health, risk management, environmental compliance and quality Comply with and promote the QLRS Safety Management System (SMS) Develop and promote the QLRS Safety, Health and Environment Management Plan and QLRS Master Risk Register and participate in annual rail safety, internal and external audits of all QLRS locations and operations Assist in establishing procedures, protocols and processes to detect potential causes of accidents Assist in the development and promotion of the QLRS SMS by ensuring that risks are identified, eliminated, mitigated or managed so far as is reasonably practicable Ensure that the relevant persons are notified of all category A and B rail safety incidents in accordance with QLRS SMS Review mainline and rail terminal operations to ensure compliance with rail safety requirements Manage the allocation of train crew resources to meet business requirements Participate in or conduct train, rollingstock, safety, site, compliance and environmental audits Promote train crew fuel management and incentive schemes Review close outs of corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement for QLRS operations Participate in accident and incident investigations and ensure that appropriate follow up actions are taken Ensure that all QLRS standards of Contractor and Supplier Management are achieved Audit and facilitate training to ensure that all employees and contractors meet statutory and organisational requirements Facilitate effective and timely training and career development for all employees Review the financial systems to ensure resources for the quality, efficiency, safety and costs of rail operations Promote QLRS in all forums to raise the organisation's profile within industry and to generate additional interest from potential customers What you can bring to Qube To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following; A minimum of 10 years experience in rail operations Degree in Transport and Logistics or similar Strong leadership and Business Management skills Great interpersonal and communication skills Reliable, team player, with a can-do attitude Strong commitment to safety and BeSafe ideology Up to 50% off gyms, studios, active wear, healthy meals, supplements, recovery and more through the Qube Fit program.
