Walking companions in Residential Aged care, Waratah Spread Joy, by joining our Volunteer Team The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person, right here in Hunter NSW. Enjoy the great outdoors and spend time in the sunshine as you stroll around our Aged Care Home Gardens at Waratah, walking alongside elderly residents living with dementia. You'll be helping people to maintain their mobility as well as their healthy wellbeing. Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the residents you are matched with. HammondCare HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. Category Seniors & Aged Care Commitment Regular - more than 6 months Type Of Work Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care, Sport & Physical Activity Time Required We’d be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability. Training Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator.
