Project Leader

Who We Are BCG ANZ is growing and we are seeking experienced consultants to join our Public Sector and Industrial Goods teams at the Project Leader level. Qualified individuals will play a critical role in enriching project work and bringing forward-thinking solutions to clients across large-scale delivery programs in the public and private sector, including defence. Ideal Candidates Ideal candidates will have previous management consulting experience and/or large capital program management and demonstrated leadership in growing client relations, people and knowledge development. What You'll Do We are looking for a Project Leader to join our collaborative, diverse, high performing, and fast‑growing Public Sector team. A team that is committed to working with government departments and agencies to enable, execute, and deliver meaningful and lasting value and impact. The ideal candidate will have a real passion for working collaboratively with clients, problem‑solving, combined with the first‑rate leadership, mentorship, and communication skills needed to create dynamic and collaborative teams. An understanding of both the nuances of the public sector and the consulting landscape will prove critical to success. Project Leaders are core to the success of each client engagement. They are central to each case/project team, with a role to play as the connecting tissue between the client, the delivery team, and the BCG global network. Client – Project Leaders manage day to day delivery with the client team, focused on generating insight and value for the client – ensuring buy‑in, understanding, and transfer of capabilities to our client teams. Delivery Team – Project Leaders lead a team of consultants to deliver the research, insight, and answer development for each engagement. They also coach, mentor, and develop each member of the team. BCG Global Network – Project Leaders actively engage global topic leaders to leverage the “Best of BCG” expertise and knowledge for the client, and integrate global perspectives into the client experience. Project Leaders are involved every step of the way in designing an approach, managing a team to execute, building relationships with the client, and ensuring impact for each engagement. Who You'll Work With 6‑8+ years experience of relevant work experience, and ideally at least 2‑3 years in industry and/or management consulting aligned to Public Sector or Defence topics or large scale capital delivery in industrial goods Dedicated experience and expertise in one or multiple of the following: Acquisition program delivery, Strategy formulation & execution, Complex scenario analysis and problem solving, Climate & sustainability, People and organization, Complex organizational change, Future of Work Experience leading and managing high performing case/project teams Thrive in a hypothesis‑based environment and ability to frame strategic challenges from a digital/tech perspective Strong analytical skills, problem solving ability and conceptual thinking Excellent communication, story‑lining, client facing and consulting skills Willingness to challenge the status‑quo, leveraging both Govt / Defence and private sector expertise to drive performance improvement Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain an AGSVA clearance. Flexibility to travel interstate or international as required.
