Communications Advisor Join to apply for the Communications Advisor role at CPB Contractors . About North East Link The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project – Victoria’s biggest road project. The Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor – comprising Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction, and China Construction Oceania – will deliver twin three‑lane tunnels and key interchanges. The Central Package, delivered as a Public Private Partnership, provides three‑lane twin tunnels that close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link daily, easing congestion in the north‑east while maintaining local roads. About the Opportunity As a Communications Advisor, you will play a key role in building community understanding and support for the project. You’ll assist with managing stakeholder relationships, coordinating community notifications, and ensuring clear, timely, and effective communication of project impacts. This is a fantastic role for someone with strong communication skills, sound judgement, and experience working on major infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Support the implementation of communications and engagement strategies that mitigate construction impacts and maintain public confidence. Respond to community and stakeholder enquiries, concerns, and issues in a timely and professional manner. Prepare project notifications, updates, and content for a variety of communication channels. Work closely with construction teams to ensure stakeholders are notified ahead of impactful works. Assist in identifying risks, emerging issues, and opportunities, escalating to the Community Engagement Lead as required. Support stakeholder briefings, toolbox talks, and presentations to enhance internal and external awareness. Monitor the effectiveness of engagement activities and contribute to continuous improvement. Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project objectives. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or similar, or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum Requirements 3+ years’ experience in communications and stakeholder engagement, ideally on a major infrastructure project. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organisational, planning, and project‑coordination skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build rapport with diverse stakeholders. Competency with Office Suite and basic desktop publishing tools.
