Sustainability Coordinator

About the Role ACCIONA is a global leader in regenerative infrastructure, committed to sustainable solutions across water, services, and renewable energy. In partnership with COBRA, the ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV) will design, build, finance, operate, and maintain the Central‑West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. We are looking for a dedicated Sustainability Coordinator to join our Environmental & Sustainability team. The role will guide and implement sustainability initiatives to minimise environmental impacts, enhance social benefits, and promote economic prosperity across project planning, design, construction, and operation. Key Responsibilities Assist in implementation of a sustainability strategy and action plan aligned with project objectives and best practices. Sustainability data capture and reporting (including energy, greenhouse gas emissions, water, waste and materials). Conduct assessments to identify opportunities and risks related to environmental, social, and economic impacts. Preparation of sustainability rating submissions. Collaborate with project teams to integrate sustainability into design, procurement, and construction phases. Coordinate stakeholder engagement to gather input and foster support for sustainability initiatives. Monitor and report on sustainability performance indicators, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with sustainability requirements, regulations, and standards, providing guidance and support to project teams. Selection Criteria Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Data Science or a related field. Previous experience in sustainability advisory roles, preferably within the infrastructure or construction industry. Candidates with previous experience as a site engineer, environmental coordinator, data analyst or similar roles looking to move into the sustainability field are also welcomed to apply. Demonstrated track record of successfully implementing sustainability initiatives and driving measurable improvements on large‑scale projects. Knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability policies, and green building codes relevant to infrastructure development. Experience conducting sustainability assessments, life cycle analyses, and stakeholder engagement activities. Experience and skills in data management and PowerBI. Familiarity with sustainability assessment tools and software applications (e.g., LCA software, ISC Rating tool, Green Star rating tool). Certification or professional accreditation in sustainability (e.g., ISAP, GSAP, LEED AP, GRI Certified Sustainability Professional) is advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports, presentations, and sustainability communications materials.
