GENERAL MANAGER (Engineering Innovation Role) This defining role is a unique ground floor leadership opportunity with iPUT Technologies' engineering design-construct business as it pivots from an R&D phase into a substantial implementation and expansion phase. Are you enthused by being part of real solutions that will significantly reduce Australia's greenhouse gas emissions over the next decade ( And bringing evolutionary new mining equipment into critical minerals ( We have a robust execution plan to become a $M50 pa turnover business within 3 years, and double that in a similar period, with significant potential beyond then. We are looking for an interested, focussed individual that grasps what we are doing and welcomes the accountability and ownership responsibilities implicit in achieving a successful transformation. You will work closely with the founding director from the get-go. He is intending to progressively disconnect from operational aspects to focus on other activities, hence this role is expected to become fully autonomous. Initially a fairly casual work from home arrangement, but building up to running a reasonable-sized engineering project office established somewhere in the general Hunter region, eg Charlestown or Maitland. You need to be able to comfortably work in at C-suite, and with all levels of engineering personnel, suppliers and contract specialists, earning their respect when you do so. Comfortable as an influencer, forming trusted relationships. Your life experiences, personal attributes and skill-sets have made you very familiar with doing 'big' innovative things. You have a good grip on what it takes to lead an engineering project team, and keen to do more. You hold appropriate qualifications that naturally support your senior leadership role. Candidates must have a minimum of 5-10 years of engineering leadership experience to effectively lead project teams. Experience in bulk materials / beneficiation plant construction / maintenance on mine-sites would be useful, but this is readily picked up if you have a decent medium – heavy industry background. You have a deliverables-centric systems mindset, which will be suitably supported as existing proven practices are fleshed out to meet the needs of the business as it grows. You understand that results matter, quality stakeholder engagement is critical, and yet that everyone needs to enjoy the journey and want to do it again. Which they will. For total transparency, the funding to initiate this position is not expected to come through until (late) Q1 2026. The purpose of this advert is to find the person that is a good fit for the role, is keen to do it, and could substantially transition on a month's notice (being the time we should see the funds are coming and be able to make a commitment). Initially it requires attending some key stakeholder meetings (yep, in person, which is how stuff gets done) and a bit of reading, and we ramp it up from there.
