Department: LRLS Law Reform & Legal Services Location: Parramatta, NSW, AU, 2150 Inquests, Inquiries & Representation Officer Principal location – Parramatta - Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated. Employment type – Ongoing – Full time (35 hours per week) Salary – Clerk Grade 5/6, Base Salary ($99,938 – $110,271), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role This role coordinates the operation of the Department’s legal panel for the representation of witnesses before investigative bodies. It offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of law and government processes, providing essential support to applicants and stakeholders while contributing to effective service delivery in a professional, dynamic legal environment. What you’ll do As part of the Inquests, Inquiries and Representation team at DCJ Legal, you will coordinate the receipt, assessment, and processing of applications for legal representation, providing accurate procedural advice and maintaining high standards of stakeholder engagement. You will manage records, communications, and reporting systems to ensure seamless operation of the panel. You will also: Monitor and report on application progress, ensuring timely communication with clients, legal representatives, and internal stakeholders. Foster positive working relationships with key stakeholders, resolving enquiries or concerns in a professional manner. Maintain and update information on the Department’s website to ensure accuracy and accessibility. Provide administrative and clerical support, including drafting correspondence, briefing notes, letters, memoranda, agendas, and meeting minutes. Assist in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and workflows to improve service delivery and efficiency. Raise purchase order requests and process invoices for goods and services in accordance with departmental policies. Identify and escalate issues or risks in processes, proposing solutions to maintain smooth operations. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational practices within the team. Work as part of a collaborative and professional legal team, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. What we’re looking for Experience in providing basic legal analysis and prioritising information to support timely and accurate decision making. Awareness of government processes and the ability to navigate administrative frameworks effectively. Strong communication skills, including liaising with stakeholders, responding to enquiries, and resolving issues professionally. Proven ability to manage competing workloads, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to team-based administrative and clerical tasks. Appointments are subject to reference checks.
